Snowboarding as the name suggests is a winter sport in which the player straps his feet to flat board and uses that to surf through the snow. This is very much similar to skiing, but the clothing requirements in both the sports are very much different. The clothes for a snowboarder are designed to work with the way they move. They are formed with a combination of an internal and external clothing line along with outdoor protective gears for complete snowboard protection.

Outdoor Snowboard Clothing

The most important pieces of outdoor snowboard clothing include a pair of pants and a jacket. These items are usually made of moisture-wicking fabric to keep the wearer warm and keep the sweat away from the body. These clothes also include a second layer of polyester that traps the body heat inside the clothing and use it to offer warmth. The outer layer of snowboard jackets and pants are made from waterproof fabric that remains dry even when snow melts in contact with the clothing.

Internal Snowboard Clothing

Choice of clothes to be worn beneath the protective outdoor layers depends completely on individual’s choice. Some of the popular clothes to be worn indoors for snowboard protection are long underwear, vests, and beanie caps. The long underwear is usually made of lightweight elastic fabric that offer free moving of the body and help to keep it warm. Vests are sleeveless T shirts that are worn inside the long sleeved shirts. Beanie caps helps in holding body heat by fitting snugly to the head and the ears.

Protective Gears

Protective gears not only offer snowboard protection against injuries, they can even save lives in case of serious injuries. Snowboard helmet is a very important part of snowboard protection accessories. While traveling downhill on snow during snowboarding, there is a high probability of you falling down and hurting your head. Snowboard helmets offer protection to head during such falls. In addition to snowboard helmets other snowboard protection accessories, include knee pads, elbow pads, knee and shin guards, mouth guards, etc.

Boots

Special boots are designed specifically for snowboarding and they form a very integral part of snowboard clothing. They are locked directly into the flat snowboard and are responsible to offer support to legs over the board. The snowboard boots are heavy-weight, highly durable and lace up to the mid-calf of the snowboarder. These boots are also meant to offer support to ankles and lower legs and protect them from injuries.
